What is YES+?

YES+ empowers students by teaching tools that eliminate stress, rid the system of negative emotions, develop strong social and leadership skills, increase focus and concentration, and implement projects for community service. It challenges young people to reach their highest potential. Organizing the YES+ on your campus provides all students with access to these benefits.

Case Study: YES+ @ Cornell University

YES+ is currently in its second year of being offered at Cornell University for credit through their Physical Education Department.
 
How has YES!+ been implemented at Cornell? 

YES+ is a 28 hour course that fulfills one credit hour at Cornell. YES+ is offered at the beginning of each semester for 6 days in a row. Students complete their credit requirement in these 6 days. YES+ has been incredibly successful at Cornell, with 100% of students saying they would recommend it to other students.
 

How do I set up YES+ as a credit course in my university?

YES+ is a flexible program that can be offered through various departments, formats and schedules. YES+ also offers advanced level programs that include retreats and travel service programs.

First, determine which university department would offer YES+. The curriculum of YES+ covers: wellness of body and mind, leadership, communication, stress management, meditation and yoga, study and concentration skills, teamwork, physical fitness, and community engagement. It can be offered through various departments/subject areas including: physical education, kinesiology, psychology, sociology, leadership, health and wellness.

Second, determine the format, number of credit hours and time span for YES+ at your university. YES!+ can be offered for a minimum of 28 hours and expanded to a 56 hour curriculum. The simplest format for the program is to spread the 28 hour program over 6 consecutive days (4 hours on weekdays, 6 hours over the weekend). YES+ may also be spread over a semester, once or twice a week after an initial 3-day launch.
 
Evaluations are available to measure various outcomes of the YES+ Course for students including physical and mental wellness and academic performance.
